Great blog! And your comment about missing singing the great old hymns is one that (sadly) I hear quite often. I praise the Lord that I too had parents who instilled a love for these songs in my from earliest years. I'm doing my best to awaken interest in this wonderful heritage of the church.<br /><br />It was your quotation of "Standing on the Promises" that caught my attention today. What a fine hymn to begin 2011! Whatever circumstances come our way, we do need to keep "standing on the promises" God has made in His holy Word. If you want to learn a bit more about this hymn, check out my blog for today. <br /><br />One more thing: I <i>love</i> the idea of having children memorize the opening stanzas of some hymns, and awarding them a hymn book for doing so successfully.
